The Govt. advice upon which our guidelines are based is shown at the bottom of this document.
I would certainly suggest that you read the “staying safe outside” document which is linked under section 3. prior to attending site.
Our ability to continue radio sailing is subject to approval of the landowner and the Hollowell Sailing Club which has allowed us to start sailing again in groups of no more than six people provided we maintain social distance. This is under constant review so please observe the guidance so that we can all keep sailing, however the MYA have issued guidance which allows for organised club races to take place with 15 club members.
Given that we put marks on the water prior to the closure by A.W.A. at this current stage our members are allowed to attend site and sail as individuals and now as a group activity of no more than fifteen our ability to do so is subject to continued agreement by A.W.A. and Hollowell Sailing Club.
Under the sports club guidelines the only clubhouse facilities which will be open are the toilets.

We are intending to arrange club meets of no more than fifteen skippers these will take place as per our club racing program advertised on our website, the details will be as follows:-
1. Each skipper will be allocated a station on the bank at 2m intervals, these will be placed by markers, at each station will be a chair which you can either sit in or stand behind, you must remain at your station during a race.
2. launching will be either from immediately in front of your station or if this isn’t feasible from the slipway which will be marked with 2m way points down one side and we would request you queue on that side and leave up the other having launched.
3. Results will be recorded by the race winner on an individual notepad and transferred to the score sheet at the end of the race or by a designated RO.
4. The start sequence and start line call we be overseen by one nominated person.
5. Should you lose control of your radio yacht the usual recovery boat procedure will take place with one person controlling the recovery boat and the skipper in charge of the recovery line. In order to maintain social distances other skippers should not enter the slipway until the recovery has been completed.
The Govt. guidelines upon which our advice is based is as follows
1. You should stay alert when you leave home: washing your hands regularly, maintaining social distancing, and ensuring you do not gather in groups of more than two, except with members of your household or for other specific exceptions set out in law
It is still very important that people stay home unless necessary to go out for specific reasons set out in law. These include:- to exercise or spend time outdoors for recreation.
3. Staying Safe Outside your home. - When you do need to go out, you should follow the guidelines on staying safe outside your home. Most importantly, this includes the key advice that you should stay two metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
4. Visiting public places - You can exercise outside as often as you wish and you can also sit and rest outside – exercise or recreation can be alone, with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household, while keeping two metres apart at all times.
You may drive to outdoor publicly accessible open spaces irrespective of distance, but should follow social distancing guidance whilst you are there.
5. Coronavirus – guidance on accessing green spaces safely
The risk of the coronavirus being passed on to others outdoors is considered to be low as long as people maintain social distancing.
In England you can leave your home to exercise and spend time outdoors for recreation.
In England, you can now:
We will of course update these procedures with any further alteration to the recommendations as they become apparent.
