Hollowell Radio Sailing Club affiliated to Hollowell SC, with the sailing of Abington park MYC largely taking place at Hollowell rather than in the park and with the attitude and assistance that our members have had towards integrating into Hollowell Sailing Club and their positive response to us being part of the club, we are now delighted to call ourselves HOLLOWELL RADIO SAILING CLUB.

AFFILIATED CLUB MEMBERSHIP 2016

PURPOSE
To record the terms and conditions for Hollowell Radio Sailing Club Affiliated Club
Membership (APMYC) for 2016 at Hollowell Sailing Club.
FEES
1. In 2016 HRSC to pay, in one lump sum by 31 August 2016, the equivalent of a social or
social retired membership per person being £45 or £36 respectively.
2. Where HRSC collects an entry fee for an event then half of this fee will be paid to HSC.
3. Where existing or new sailing or social members of Hollowell Sailing Club (HSC) also join or
are already members of HRSC then no additional fee is due to HSC. These individuals are
already considered to have paid annual fees to access the water and may operate model
yachts as members of HRSC.
4. Members of HSC are not permitted to operate model yachts if they are not members of
HRSC except on a taster or introductory basis.
5. No craft fee will be due to HSC subject to this being also the case between Anglian Water
Services Ltd and HSC. Should AWS alter terms of the lease then HSC reserve the right to
request HRSC to respond accordingly.
6. No joining fee will be due to HSC for existing or new members of HRSC.
ENTITLEMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
7. All members of HRSC agree to abide by the HSC Rules and policies.
8. All visitors to the premises are required to sign in whether in the Visitors Book or in an event
entry form supplied by HRSC and by doing so agree to abide by HSC Rules.
9. A member of HSC or HRSC is not considered to be a Visitor but their friends and family are
and as such may be permitted on site up to four times in any year.
10. HRSC members are each required to carry out the equivalent of one day duty per year. This
is the same as required of HSC social members with juniors in membership.
11. In the case of an individual already being a member of HSC and being required to carry out
duty obligations then the duty requirement will not apply. The requirement to undertake duties
at HSC is seen as a means of ensuring fees remain affordable and all members contribute
towards efforts to maintain and improve facilities.
12. Members of HRSC are permitted to access the grounds at any time and to use its facilities,
liaising with all other users in order to adhere to guidelines on security, health and hygiene.
13. The term to describe members of HRSC at HSC will be “HRSC Member” and not ‘social
member of HSC’ (unless this also applies).
OPERATIONS
14. On days when there are Training Activities on the water, the APMYC Duty Officer/s will liaise
with the Senior Dinghy Instructor or Powerboat Instructors to operate in an area that will
minimize disruption to the course.
15. On days when there are programmed rowing or sailing activities, the HRSC Duty Officer will
liaise with the Duty Officers concerned to agree areas of water and timings of water use.
16. HRSC will run its Open Events at HSC on permitted Saturday mornings and training sessions
on one other weekday except Thursday (expected to be a Tuesday).
17. Outside of programmed (i.e. in the online calendar) on-the-water activity arranged by HSC or
its Affiliated Club Hollowell Scullers, HRSC members may operate within the current Open
Water policy meaning members may operate model yachts freely and at no additional charge.
18. HRSC will ensure a minimum third party liability cover of £2m is in place to cover the
eventuality of any on-shore or on-the-water collision with any other person causing them or
their equipment or craft damage.
19. During the operation of HRSC at HSC, an Officer or delegated person will be present at all
times if the clubhouse and other buildings are to be open and will be responsible for liaising
with other users, security of these and any equipment used.
20. Members of HRSC are permitted to partake of any training necessary at HSC members rates
and operate powered craft where required for safety and operations.
GENERAL
21. HRSC remains a separate entity and its Officers will agree to comply, and ensure its
members comply, with HSC rules and Anglian Water Byelaws.
22. HRSC will be represented on the Sailing Committee and provide a brief report on its activities
to each of the Sailing Committee meetings. This may be done in person or by sending it to the
Chairperson for this Committee. This Committee will be responsible for making
recommendations regarding ongoing activities for approval by the General Committee. The
Sailing Committee Chairperson or as delegated will act as the main point of contact during
2016.
23. HRSC will be entitled to one vote at the HSC Annual General Meeting.
24. This Agreement is understood to apply until 31 December 2016, renewable only by mutual
agreement and subject to approval by the HSC General Committee.
